Ben “Vanilla Thunder” Tynan hopes to keep the momentum going with a quick return.
The undefeated Canadian heavyweight will take on the mixed martial arts veteran in Prime Video's ONE 167: Stamp vs. Zamboanga, which will air live in prime time in the U.S. from Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, on June 7. He will face knockout artist Mauro “The Hammer” Cerilli. .
Tynan, who earned his debut submission victory over “The Mighty Warrior” Kang Ji-won in November last year, improved his perfect professional record to 6-0 after defeating Duke “The Duke of Canberra” Didier at ONE Fight Night 21 earlier this month. It extended to defeat.
The former wrestling standout showed off his improved striking by elbowing Didier and slamming him to the canvas for a first-round TKO win.
After the win, Tynan called out division king Anatoly “Sladky” Malihin, but he will need to get past “The Hammer” first.
Former ONE World Title challenger Cerilli has competed against some of the top dogs in the ONE Heavyweight MMA ranks over the years, and while he hasn't always won, he has proven to be very dangerous.
The Italian boasts 10 career knockouts and all three of his wins in ONE have come by stoppage, including his last outing against Paul “King of the North” Elliott. Including those won by TKO.
With 20 professional fights under his belt, “The Hammer” has far more experience than Tynan and will look to take advantage of that on June 7th.
This matchup could have serious implications in the upper echelons of the heavyweight MMA division and will add to an already strong card in Bangkok.
In the main event and co-main event slots, Stamp Fairtex and Dennis “The Menace” Zamboanga will clash for the ONE Women's Atomweight MMA World Title, while Tawanchai PK Saengchai will take on “Smokin” Joe Nattawut Defends ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title.
