Jake Paul is doubling down on his $10 million mixed martial arts offer to former boxing opponent Nate Diaz of Jorge Masvidal and Problem Child.
After transitioning from YouTube stardom to the boxing and sports promotion side, Paul is currently looking to make his MMA debut and would like to face an opponent with some name recognition within the sport.
Paul publicly offered to pay $10 million for the chance to fight either Masvidal or Diaz in the cage, but the former reacted negatively on The MMA Hour by saying, “Are you kidding me?” Can't be boxed either. Are you planning to fight in MMA from now on? ”
Now, Paul doubled down on his offer despite Masvidal's comments on his podcast.
“What the hell are you going to do when you come to MMA?” Paul said, mocking Masvidal. “I'm from Miami, Florida, brother.”
Paul then took down his impression of Masvidal.
“All these people are hiding behind all these crazy things, and yet no one comes to the table and talks.” [about] “Any business, anything, to actually make something happen in a real game,” he said. “It’s a real spar.
“So, the offer is still open. Either Masvidal or Diaz in the PFL. [A] It's an offer of $10 million to either of them. ”
Of course, Paul is currently preparing for a boxing exhibition against 57-year-old Mike Tyson. The two will face off on Netflix in July from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Paul previously offered Diaz an eight-figure sum for an MMA rematch following Diaz's unanimous decision win over the UFC legend in Dallas in August 2023.
“When I say I want to fight these guys in MMA, I'm very serious,” Paul said on the podcast. “Either Masvidal or Diaz, the PFL offers $10 million to either of them.”
Paul signed a multi-year contract with the PFL in January 2023 and was given the title of 'Head of Fighters Advocacy' upon promotion.
However, PFL coach Don Davis revealed that Paul's timeline has changed due to his boxing commitments, including his upcoming fight with Tyson.
Diaz said he never turned down a $10 million offer, adding: “There is no PFL.” PFL, they sell 2 tickets and get 2 for free. That's Danna [White] Said. '
Masvidal has made it clear that the UFC and its founder Dana White are not interested.
'listen [Jake], the UFC doesn’t like you son of a bitch,” Masvidal said on The MMA Hour. “Dana White, I hate you asshole.
“They said, 'We're not going to make money with this guy,' because at the end of the day, we're partners. Me and Nate Diaz, we're going to make money right now,” Diaz said on June 1. Masvidal continued.
“They don't care about that mother. I understand why they don't want me to have a relationship with him and make him notoriety or money. They don't care about him.
“Jake comes running up to me somewhere else and it's not like there's a ring or anything to find, bro. We're talking about PFL and you're going to do it in MMA?”
