Ducks coaches and cancer survivors Sudarshan Maharaj and Mike Strothers celebrate the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players Association (NHLPA) 25th Annual Hockey Fight Against Cancer 25th Anniversary. The NHL and NHLPA will partner with members of the NHL family directly involved in cancer to award $25,000 grants each to local nonprofit organizations to further raise cancer awareness for research and support patients in the region. 10 items have been specified. Mr. Maharaj will donate $12,500 to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) during the organization's Purple Stride Orange County 2024 on Saturday, April 27 at the Honda Center. Maharaj, a longtime goaltending coach for the Ducks and a pancreatic cancer survivor, will be attending PanCAN's Purple Stride Orange County 2024 (The Ultimate Fight to End Pancreatic Cancer) on Saturday, April 27th at the Honda Center. Awarded as a Survivor Speaker at the Walking Show. This is one of about 60 PanCAN walks. The events were held across the United States to mark the organization's biggest fundraising event of the year.Maharaj will give a speech and check presentation at the opening ceremony at 9 a.m. to inspire and celebrate pancreatic cancer survivors, families, and supporters in attendance. 2024 Purple Stride Orange County will officially be announced at 9:30 a.m. to be started
In addition to Ducks players, coaches and staff, mascot Wild Wings, Power Players and members of the Street Team will be in attendance to support Maharaj and honor everyone affected by this disease. Mr. Stothers, special advisor to the Ducks and San Diego Gulls coaches and a Stage 3 lymph node melanoma survivor, will donate $12,500 to the Ronald McDonald House® Orange County on Monday, April 29th.
