The Florida State Seminoles concluded their spring with the 2024 Garnet & Gold Spring Showcase held inside Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday. The event gave the Noles an opportunity to showcase the work they have put in this offseason in front of the 18,000 fans in attendance and highlight the team's progress heading into summer training.

NoleGameday's Emily Peters met with FSU Athletic Director Michael Alford before the event to discuss the team's restart after an ACC Championship season and share her thoughts on what to expect this fall. .
“Well, it's great to see what our team is going to be like. And it's going to be a completely different team than Mike has had in the past,” Alford said ahead of the showcase. He talked about Tribe24.
FSU head coach Mike Norvell is known for his high-powered offense, averaging 36.8 points per game last season. His play-calling style reflects his tenures at Memphis and Arizona State, and in his final season at the helm, his per-game average for the two teams combined He scored 38.6 points. Alford believes this current team, while different, can be explosive in its own right.
“If you look at Arizona State and Memphis and his type of offense, they've always been vertical. And now he can go out there and hit with Malik Benson and other guys. At this speed, you're going to have a completely different offense, especially all of our quarterbacks, who can really push the ball down the field,” Alford continued. “Now that he’s here, he’s going to see a little different offense than he’s seen before, so he’s really looking forward to it.”
The Seminoles' defense held opponents to 20.6 points per game last year, and their speed has been a topic of discussion all offseason, although the Noles will be adding several players heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. However, I believe Alford will be a standout under defensive coordinator Adam Fuller.
“And our defense is very loaded and the speed of our defense is going to be really outstanding. So we're looking forward to them getting inside Doak and showing us what they're capable of.” ing.”
Florida State University plans to resume team practice in July in preparation for its matchup against Georgia Tech on August 24th in Dublin, Ireland.
