Mike and Dan recap Game 1 of the Islanders vs. Hurricanes series. In this game, after a good performance against Carolina, more bad luck followed.
He predicted that the Islanders would be the better team for most of the game and would be able to go toe-to-toe with the teams considered to be the favorites to win the Stanley Cup. But just like in 2019 and 2023, bad timing turned the tide and left the Islanders scratching their heads (in some cases literally).
But there are some things that could be better than just their play, and even if it means repeating their performance almost verbatim to achieve a different result, the outlook for Game 2 is Become more optimistic.
We also discuss the Coyotes once again as they head to Utah in a way that won't make anyone happy (despite what the NHL wants you to believe).
