UFC Hall of Famer and two-time Olympian wrestler Daniel Cormier has no time for disrespectful fans.
On Friday, Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs lost in the semifinals to Jason Nolf in the 74kg weight class in what may have been the last match of his career at the U.S. National Team Trials. Then, as Burrows left the arena, fans began yelling and taunting him, chanting, “Your career is over,” and the Nebraska alum turned around and yelled back, “What did you do?”
Cormier didn't like any of it. Cormier took to social media to slam rude fans shouting at Burrows after what was arguably one of the toughest moments of his career.
“This guy is such trash,” Cormier wrote on Twitter. “It's insane to scream at a man who has represented our country the right way for 13 years and won seven world and Olympic titles to go home. That's why Armand [Tsarukyan] I punched the fan. People do things that have no consequences.
“This guy fought in probably the last game of his career and this is what they give him? I love how Manning jumped on the opponent's defense. Sometimes I get so lost in the way people act. That's mind-boggling. JB, you're still a man. Time takes us all. And Jason Nolf is a dog!”

Burrows, 35, has a long list of honors on his resume and will likely go down as one of the greatest American wrestlers in history. Unfortunately, he has now missed out on the past two Olympic teams, losing to Kyle Dake in 2020 and falling to Nolf ahead of the 2024 Olympics.
In a post mentioning the incident, Cormier referenced another altercation at UFC 300 in which lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan got into a physical exchange with a fan in the audience during a walkout in his bout with Charles Oliveira. .
Tsarukyan explained that he reacted because a fan gave him the middle finger on his way to the cage and he got a little too close for comfort.
“He gave me a 'fuck you' look, but he wanted to punch me and I wanted to punch him back,” Tsarukyan said at the UFC 300 post-fight press conference. “That's it. So guys, don't let anyone say 'fuck you' to me.” I don't care who you are, I'm going to punch you in the face. You can show me shit from 200 meters away, I'm not going to hit you.
“But when you're near me, it's automatic. I'm from Russia. Don't do that, or you'll go to jail in America.”
Cormier appears to agree with Tsarukian's actions, especially after what he witnessed at Friday's U.S. Olympic wrestling trials.
