harrisonburg, virginia – The term “competition” has been thrown around the James Madison football program since head coach Bob Chesney arrived on campus, and Saturday’s spring game proved that.
In a game where the final play determined the outcome, the offense scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the final minute to defeat the defense 30-29 at Bridgeforth Stadium.
In the spring game, there were five lead changes and the team's offense accounted for 423 total yards, with 243 passing and 180 rushing yards, with no lost fumbles or interceptions. The defense was helped by three turnovers and two three-and-outs on downs, with two sacks and six pass breakups.
