Austin, Texas – Kickoff time for Texas football's September 7 game against defending national champion Michigan is set for 11 a.m. Central Time. The game will be broadcast on FOX, which will also broadcast a two-hour Big Noon Kickoff pregame show live from Ann Arbor, Michigan.
This matchup brings together the two programs with the most wins in NCAA history, with the University of Michigan in first place all-time with 1,004 wins and the University of Texas in fourth place with 948 wins.
The only previous meeting between the two schools occurred in the 2005 Rose Bowl following the 2004 season. Two storied programs produced a classic as Texas won 38-37 on Dusty Mangum's 37-yard field goal as time expired. Vince Young rushed for 372 yards and 5 TDs, including 192 yards and 4 TDs on the ground, and the Longhorns won their first BCS bowl appearance and finished the season with an 11-1 record.
