Helen Maroulis can't stop making history.
In 2016, she became the first American to win an Olympic gold medal in women's freestyle wrestling.
She won a bronze medal at the 2021 Olympics, becoming the first American woman to win multiple medals in wrestling.
In 2024, she became the first American to be named to the Women's Freestyle Olympic Team.
Maroulis qualified for the best-of-three finals thanks to his bronze medal at the 2023 World Championships. Her Olympic Trials opponent was 2019 World Champion Jakara Winchester. She won a silver medal in the 55kg category last year and qualified for the semi-finals of the challenge tournament.
Winchester defeated Abbey Nett 11-0 and Alex Hedrick 4-2 to earn the right to play Maroulis.
The Rockville, Md., native was in great form, taking a fall at 2 minutes, 41 seconds in the first game and shutting out 6-0 in the second. Maroulis has the potential to become the first American woman to win three Olympic wrestling medals at this summer's Paris Games.
