Lakeview Soccer returned to the field Thursday, hosting Kearney Catholic for both the boys and girls.
Both teams lost to the Stars, with the boys dropping the game 2-0 and the Lady Vikes losing 5-0.

The Vikings lost 2-0 to the Stars, but were forced to come from behind for much of the game after an early goal from Kearney Catholic.
“Obviously it wasn't the result we wanted, but I feel like every time we play we're heading in a good direction,” Vikings coach Aaron Radloff said. “Credit to them, they made the play, but we should have been in a better position.”
Kearney Catholic scored again in the first half, and the Stars ended the first half with a 2-0 lead. The Vikings remained resilient in the second half, making saves from freshman goaltender Joao Jimenez to prevent the Stars from increasing their lead and not allowing another point.

“He was in a great position that second half. He was where he was supposed to be,” Radloff said. “He's a very good teammate. He continues to develop and I like his positioning.”
Despite losing 2-0, Lakeview's defense played its best game of the season, conceding its fewest goals of the season.
“This is proof that we are playing a better defense. I thought Adan Ramirez did a great job and he stepped into the center back role,” Rudlov said.
While the Stars were able to preserve a shutout victory, the Vikings had few opportunities on offense.
“We just keep trying to do what we've been doing in practice. I think we were a little behind on what we were trying to do. That's why we're at zero,” Radloff said.
The Vikings lost 2-0, losing nine straight to start the season and remain winless. Lakeview will be looking for its first win of the season as the Vikings take on Seward on Tuesday.
“We just do what we're coached to do and stay together as a team,” Radloff said. “I think they did a good job. We continue to improve. We just have to take a step forward and see if we can get a win.”

The Lady Vikes fell behind early against the Stars, but Kearney Catholic scored three points in the first inning and added two more in the second for a 5-0 victory.
“We just didn't play well. We just couldn't connect passes and struggled to score,” Lady Vikes coach Mike Zimmerman said. “It's just one of those days.”
Lakeview started the game strong and had several scoring chances, but the Lady Vikes couldn't find the back of the net.
“Kearney Catholic had more speed than us, they were more aggressive and they had people in front of them when we were moving the ball,” Zimmerman said. “We had some chances, but we couldn't score.”
Senior Kiara Kula played in goal for Lakeview after a red card kept Jada Kingston from playing. Kula was able to make some saves, but the Stars' offense was too strong for the Lady Vikes.
“Kura blocked some shots well. They had really great looks and she did her best,” Zimmerman said.
Some of the bright spots for Lakeview were Kamryn Koch and Taylor Griesen.
“Koch really shined on defense. She did a solid job there,” Zimmerman said. “Griesen was really good at connecting passes.”
The Lady Vikes have dropped their last three games, dropping to 3 wins and 5 losses overall. The Lakeview girls also play at Seward on Tuesday.
“I think Seward is a team we can play with and against,” Zimmerman said. “I need to practice and mentally push this out.”
