UFC featherweight champion Ilya Topuria has one condition that she needs to meet in order to accept a fight with Max Holloway.
Just this past weekend, Max Horowy (26-7 MMA) defeated Justin Gaethje (25-5 MMA) by KO in a lightweight bout to become the new UFC BMF Champion.
Following the win, Holloway called up 27-year-old Ilya Topria.
Speaking with Ariel Helwani on “The MMA Hour,” Ilya Topria talks about Max Holloway's win at UFC 300 on April 13 in Las Vegas, and plans on “Blessed” for the BMF belt. He talked about his excitement to step into the cage.
“There's a lot involved in this fight. He has that belt, that Motherfucker belt, so he's looking forward to adding that to his legacy as well. UFC Champion, “Baddest Motherf**ker”, what else? And maybe he'll try for the second weight class. ”
“El Matador” went on to explain that there are regulations and timelines.
“If not for the BMF belt, I don't want him at all. If not, I'm going to have a rematch with Volk. But he has that (BMF) belt, so I'm excited about it. That's why I want him. He kept saying, “I have a lot of options now.” he has no choice. For now, I'm the champion. I choose a date. I choose the location. All he has to do is get ready and wait for the call. He must be ready whenever I want him. ”
Undefeated Ilya Topria (15-0 MMA) last fought and defeated Alexander Volkanovskiy (26-4 MMA) by knockout at UFC 298 in February of this year.
Topuria, the current UFC featherweight champion, believes all the cards are stacked in his favor, and if he wants to fight Holloway for the BMF belt, that's on his timeline. Dew.
