This weekend's U.S. Olympic Team Trials will feature some of the biggest names in wrestling, including 2012 Olympic gold medalist Jordan Burroughs. The matches will be held on April 19th and 20th at the Bryce Jordan Center, home of Penn State Wrestling, in State College, Pennsylvania.
Wrestlers will compete directly for a spot on the U.S. team at the Olympics, but spots are limited, with only 16 countries qualifying per weight class. Many spots have already been secured across multiple events in 2023, and the full list of athletes who have qualified can be found here.
Burroughs will take to the mat in the 74kg weight class, which also features Kyle Dake and Jason Nolf.

1. Jordan Burroughs won gold at the 2012 Olympics.
In 2012, Burroughs made it to the historic finals at the Lyndon Summer Olympics. Burroughs defeated Iran's Sadegh Gudarzi 1-0, 1-0 to win the Olympic gold medal. He has also won six world championships, four gold medals in the 74kg category, and two gold medals in the 79kg category.

2. Where is Jordan Burrows from?
Jordan Burroughs was born in Camden, New Jersey, but calls Sicklerville, New Jersey, the town where he grew up, home. Burroughs attended Winslow Township High School, where he finished his senior year winning the 2006 New Jersey state title at 135 pounds.
3. Where did Jordan Burroughs wrestle in college?
Burroughs attended Nebraska from 2006 to 2011, earning the fourth-most wins in school history and two national championships (2009,157 and 2011,165).
He was also the 2011 Hodge Trophy Award recipient, just one of many Hodge Trophy Award winners at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials.

Burroughs is the favorite heading into this weekend's Olympic Trials, but he will face off against other top contenders Kyle Dake and Jason Nolf.
