Youth soccer (6-1)
ADM won all five games in a series that has been dominated by Dallas Center-Grimes for the past five years, with ADM coming away victorious with a 2-1 win on the road against the Mustangs on Friday night. .
Helping them get over the hump, Brock Richardson and Peyton Meyer each had shots to get the Tigers on the board, with assists from Mason Toralli and Rylan Stein-Smith.
And Owen Evans kept the Mustangs' damage to a minimum, allowing just one goal while making 14 saves. This was a season-high for a junior goalie.
Women's soccer (2-5)
The Tigers hosted the tournament on Saturday, competing in two games against North Scott and Bishop Heelan.
In both wins this season, ADM defended a shutout, this time with a 3-0 win over North Scott, with Hannah Desmarais, Brenna Seidl and Jada Grove contributing equally with one goal each. . Grove and Seidl also contributed with assists, and goaltender Kathryn Ransom's six saves kept the Lady Lancers on top of the scoreboard.
Grove's first-half goal against Bishop Heelan (6-2) tied the game 1-1 and sent it into overtime, but the Crusaders scored the final goal of the day and won 2-1.

The Tigers had a number of accomplishments at Saturday's Jim Duncan Invitational hosted by Drake. But the biggest piece of history was made in the Tigers' home tournament on April 11th.
After breaking the discus school record set in 1988 (159 feet, 11 inches) with a throw of 174-08 at the Iowa City West meet, senior thrower Drew Hickey steps up and breaks the shot put record, which has stood for 60 years. broke the record. Hickey threw a new top distance of 55-04 1/2. This is his two school records in 10 days.
As of April 15, Hickey ranks second among 3A athletes in shot put and fourth in discus PR.

ADM heated up the tournament with a match against Bondurant-Farrar on Monday. He scored 168 points and the next highest score was 98 points.
In addition to scoring in two soccer games this week, Jada Grove won both the 100 and 200 meter dashes and also won the 4×100 relay with Peyton Standley, Aniston Toralli and Josi Dufour. He was the team's top scorer in solo points.

Playing on their home green on April 11, the Tigers tied Woodward against Granger, 204-204. ADM accounted for three of the top five scores, with Cecilia Gardiner taking second with 47 strokes. Kenzie Lathrop and Aubrey Winter hit 50 and 53, respectively.

ADM took on Gilbert, last year's RRC champion and third place in the state, on Monday to get a glimpse of what to expect this season at both the conference and state level.
Gilbert had the upper hand in this matchup, winning 306-292 after 18 holes. In comparison, ADM won last year's half-round tournament, but lost by four strokes to the rival Tigers in the RRC tournament, which immediately saw ADM move up one spot in the state tournament.
