There are only two weeks left for FBS college football players to decide whether to opt-in to the highly anticipated release of EA Sports College Football 25, and a huge number of players have already made their decisions.
Athlete marketing firm OneTeam Partners announced Wednesday that more than 12,300 athletes have opted in so far.
EA Sports College Football 25 is set to be released this summer, more than a decade after the latest installment of the popular video game. The last release was NCAA Football 14 in July 2013.
EA Sports College Football 25 will include even more personalized features than ever before, thanks to relaxed name, image, and similarity rules since the game's last iteration. Jersey names are likely to be included this time around, and players will benefit from having jersey names in the game for the first time.
According to ESPN's Adam Rittenberg, “Each player who opts in to have their name, image and likeness used will receive $600 plus a copy of the game worth about $70.” The game will feature teams with 85-player rosters. Just eight days after the process was opened to his FBS players, the game had over 10,000 opt-ins.
“The response to the EA Sports College Football 25 athlete opt-in opportunity has been incredible,” Darryl Holt, senior vice president and group general manager of EA Sports' Tiburon Studio and American Football Division, said in a statement last month. “Over the past week, more than 10,000 athletes across the FBS have opted in to this offer, and more people are saying yes every hour. We're looking forward to debuting our first-class athletes in the game when it launches this summer. ”
The return of EA Sports College Football 25 will be welcomed by fans of the famous video game series, as players will finally be able to benefit from participating in the project.
