Penn State men's hockey goaltender Liam Soulier is leaving Happy Valley for Minnesota, he announced on Instagram Wednesday.
Last season as a senior, Soulier played in 29 games and made 637 saves while giving up 92 goals. In his junior year, he started 36 games and recorded 918 saves and 83 goals allowed.
“I am forever grateful for the experiences I have been privileged to live, and I wish nothing but the best for the future of this team and school that I love so much,” Soulier said. “I am pleased to announce that I will be joining the University of Minnesota Gophers for the 2024-25 season.”
Penn State ended the season with a 2-0 victory over Minnesota in the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals. Souliere made 43 saves in two games in the series.
The Brampton, Ontario native joins the Golden Gophers with one year of eligibility remaining.
