The college football transfer portal is getting very busy for Colorado and other teams around the country.
On Monday morning, On3Sports reported that CU defensive lineman Chaz Wallace is set to enter the transfer portal, becoming the first CU player to enter the transfer portal this spring. It didn't take long for him to join the ranks.
Also on Monday, On3Sports reported that safety Jaden Milliner-Jones and offensive linemen Isaiah Jatta and Savion Washington are also set to enter the transfer portal. The 15-day spring transfer portal window for undergraduate students opens Tuesday and runs through April 30.
Wallace, a 6-foot-2, 295-pound senior with one year of eligibility remaining, appeared in 11 games for the Buffs last season, recording 11 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks. Wallace played three seasons at Old Dominion before transferring to CU a year ago. He appeared in 23 games at ODU, recording 47 tackles and 2.5 sacks.
Washington started 10 games at right tackle for the Buffaloes last season. The 6-foot-8, 320-pounder missed two games with injury but played 660 snaps throughout the 2023 season. Washington transferred to CU a year ago from Kent State and started 11 games in 2022.
With Washington gone, CU will be without all five of its regular starters in 2023, which isn't all that surprising. The line has struggled all year, and head coach Deion Sanders brought in five experienced transfers and top prep recruit Jordan Seaton.
Jatta, a 6-6, 300-pound tackle, played in 11 games with one start and played most of his time on special teams. Jatta said he came to CU a year ago as a transfer from Snow College in Utah.
Miller-Jones is one of the top young players on the roster and came to Cal from DeSoto (Texas) High School last year. By the end of the season, he became a key player off the Buffs' bench. He played in all 12 games, including one as a starter, recording 25 tackles and three pass breakups.
On Monday, it was also reported that former CU defensive end Deve Harris will be entering the transfer portal. Harris, who appeared in all 12 games as a backup last season, left the Buffs before spring. He came to CU from Old Dominion a year ago.
