Jake Peacock made his ONE debut on April 5th surrounded by quite a bit of hype, but he certainly delivered.
In three rounds of Bantamweight Muay Thai held at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, “THE ONE” dominated Japan's Kohei Shinjo and escaped with a huge unanimous decision victory.
After an impressive first performance, Peacock was satisfied with the start of his life in ONE Championship.

“Without a doubt, I knew I had it. It's pure domination from start to finish. Even though I didn't get the finish I wanted, I'm happy with my debut in ONE Championship.” he said.
“It's a real honor to be able to perform on the biggest stage in martial arts. It's truly a dream come true to be here.”
Despite losing part of his right arm, the British-Canadian defied the odds to become one of North America's top Muay Thai fighters.
After amassing a 12-1 record on the local circuit, the 30-year-old won last year's Road to ONE: Canada tournament and signed a six-figure contract with ONE.
While other members of his division are paying attention to his successful promotion, Peacock plans to waste no time in aiming for the top.
“Now that I'm on the big stage, I don't think I'll be underestimated anymore.'' I want to do my best to give glory to God.''
“I'm going straight back to square one. You have to realize there's always room for improvement. I hope to be back in action soon.
“I'm not the type of fighter to pick my opponents. I'm always ready for a scrap.”
The world of martial arts has featured many one-armed fighters over the years. People with different limbs may be perceived as having limitations. For Peacock, the son of former England football star turned media pundit Gavin Peacock, it was never a consideration.
Through his success in the fighting game, he hopes to inspire others with similar differences to excel in their chosen field.
“I've never liked attention [my limb difference]. I like to keep my head down and just do what I do and be recognized as a great fighter. “It's a great opportunity to inspire and encourage people,” he said.
“I knew I was born for the big stage. I was born for the best competition. The thing about me is that I love to entertain. There are great fighters, but there aren't that many entertainers. I can fight and I can entertain. That's what I'm trying to do in ONE.”
