PHOENIX — As expected, two Phoenix Suns stars are reportedly included on Team USA's 2024 Olympic basketball roster.
NBA insider Shams Charania said:
“Source: Team USA finalizing 11 of 12-man Olympic roster:
LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Joel Embiid, Jayson Tatum, Devin Booker, Jrue Holiday, Anthony Davis, Anthony Edwards, Bam Adebayo, and Tyrese Haliburton. ”
Team USA will reportedly maintain one roster spot for the time being.
The news comes just months after both stars were listed on Team USA's official 41-man roster in January.
Former Suns who were candidates but didn't make the cut (at least not yet for a final roster spot) include Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, and Chris Paul.
Durant and Booker both committed to play for the red, white and blue during media days ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Suns guard Bradley Beal also previously expressed interest but was not selected.
The United States has brought gold medals in men's basketball in seven of eight Olympic Games. They won medals in all 19 of his Olympic Games dating back to 1936.
Booker/Durant led the Suns to a 49-33 regular season record and will face the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of postseason action starting April 20th.
