The University of Denver will host the University of Minnesota in the 2025 U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Induction Game, the school's athletics department announced Monday. The game is scheduled for Thanksgiving weekend next year at Ball Arena, with a specific date and time to be announced after the NHL's calendar is finalized.
The Pioneers and Gophers, who have won an NCAA-record 10th national championship, are among the top programs in college hockey. Together, the two teams have won 15 national titles and appeared in “Frozen 4” 42 times. In 2023-2024, they had a total of 25 NHL draft picks on their roster.
This will be the fourth time DU has participated in the Hall of Fame Game. The Pios have hosted this game twice at Magness Arena, facing Minnesota in 2004 in a contest held at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. This will be DU's second game at Ball Arena, following a game against the University of Colorado in October. 2023.
