UFC 300 was a historic event. No, seriously. I'm really sorry if you missed this, especially if you're an MMA fan. If not, thanks for reading.
I haven't had the opportunity to fully express my love for the sport during my time at MMAKO, but I plan on doing so from now on.
Zane Bando's MMA Journey
I started watching martial arts when I was 6 years old. that's right. Basic addition and subtraction and the pronunciation of names like Wanderlei Silva, Randy Couture, and Frankie Edgar came naturally to me while other friends were figuring out how to spell Massachusetts.
In any case, my jams were Spike TV, TUF, the Countdown Show, and All Access. I was obsessed with martial arts. This was all I watched on TV until I was about 10 years old, but then I became obsessed with other major sports, including teams from the Chicago area.
Over the past 18 years, I have been fortunate enough to witness the magic of several UFC events. From the intense Aldo vs. Holloway double fight, to the thrilling Cejudo vs. Moraes fight, to the historic Silva vs. Coté and Whittaker vs. Romero fights at UFC 225, each event left an indelible mark on my memory.

But it was the fight against Conor McGregor that really took my breath away. When Poirier finished McGregor in Las Vegas three years ago, he could feel the electric energy in the arena even through the television screen. It was a feeling that was reflected when Max Holloway knocked out Justin Gaethje with one second left after seemingly winning four rounds.
Whether it was shock, sadness, or happiness, there was something in the arena that could only be described as bliss. It was something in a movie. Something that only a screenwriter could dream of actually happened. Is it the best ever? That's debatable. But the fact is that you always remember where you were when you saw it, just like you remember all the other moments mentioned above. Last Saturday was a night MMA fans will never forget, even long after many of us are gone.
It was a special night that will go down in history. People will remember the date, year, and location it took place, and most of all, this fight will prove that MMA is the greatest sport on the planet, whether you like it or not. became.
