Dana White denied reports that Eddie Hearn could beat him to host the first martial arts event at the Sphere.
It was reported in Ireland earlier this week that a major women's boxing rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is currently in advanced negotiations and could ultimately take place in June.
RTE reported that the rematch was “expected” to take place at the new MSG Sphere Arena in Las Vegas, but White was adamant that this was not the case.
He has already booked a venue for this year's Mexican Independence Day UFC show, promising “the best live martial arts show anyone has ever seen.”
However, this is only until September, so if Taylor vs. Serrano 2 participates in advance and beats the UFC, it is possible that it will become the first martial arts event in the Sphere.
But according to White, that's “not happening.”
“I love Eddie Hearn and I consider him a friend, but that's not going to happen,” he said at the UFC 300 post-fight press conference.
“Sorry Eddie, I love you, we can go to the sphere in October.”
The first match between the Irish icon and the Puerto Rican star made headlines in 2022.
In a thrilling 10-round contest, Taylor narrowly defeated Serrano on points.
The pair initially went in different directions rather than having an immediate rematch.
But now Taylor's promoter Eddie Hearn has confirmed that he is in talks to stage a second fight two years after the first.
Sin City's brand new $2.3 billion venue opened late last year.
At 366 feet tall and 516 feet wide, this stunning structure is a stunning new addition to Las Vegas' famous skyline.
The Sphere has a capacity of 18,600 and can be used for a variety of purposes.
The exterior features the world's largest LED screen and has already produced an array of stunning displays.
The original budget was $1.2 billion, but construction costs ballooned due to the pandemic, ultimately raising the cost to $2.3 billion.
The main use of the venue is for musical activities.
The main stage acts are surrounded by towering LED screens inside, which also wrap around most of the audience.
It allows performances to be brought to life with a variety of animations, seats also vibrate, and the audience is surrounded by machines that create additional effects such as wind and scents as part of the '4D' experience.
