The LSU football staff is in the midst of its biggest recruiting weekend of the year as five-star prospects flock to Baton Rouge for the spring game.
Brian Kelly and company received visits from four five-star prospects, including America's No. 1 cornerback, DJ Pickett.
Pickett, who is visiting Death Valley for the third time in recent months, has been wined and dined by cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond since January. Raymond accepted the LSU job and immediately put a full-court press on Pickett.
Now, Pickett returned to Baton Rouge on Saturday. The coveted corner returns to The Boot ahead of its official visit from May 31st to June 2nd.
Their pressure on Pickett appears to be strong, according to sources, and many feel this could ultimately come down to a battle between LSU and Miami.
For Pickett, it's important to note that his cousin committed to Miami last year and he's from the Sunshine State, but for now, LSU is seriously pushing for his services. .
The No. 1 cornerback will be in Baton Rouge this weekend alongside several elite-level prospects, most notably Bryce Underwood and Harlem Berry. Both recruits are rated No. 1 in their respective positions and are committed to Kelly's program.
The other major target on campus this weekend is five-star wide receiver Karik Lockett, the nation's No. 2 wideout. He has developed a relationship with Pickett, and both men are scheduled to visit officials on the same weekend, May 31st.
The Tigers boast the No. 2 rookie class in the 2025 cycle, led by a trio of five-star prospects in Underwood, Berry and DaCorien Moore. As the months go by, the program will add some coveted targets as program-changing classes flock to the Bayou State.
