Brian Kelly and the LSU football staff are having a tough weekend in recruiting, with the program accepting several coveted prospects for both the 2025 and 2026 cycles.
Headliner: bryce underwood, America's No. 1 quarterback. The LSU commit hopped on a flight late Thursday night and arrived in Baton Rouge to help with the Tigers' recruiting efforts this weekend.
Underwood is scheduled to accompany five-star wide receiver Karik Lockett on a visit after Lockett arrives in the city Friday afternoon. Sources told LSU Country that Lockett communicated with several staff members, commitments and goals, and Friday night went well.
One of the biggest days of the spring recruiting period is now underway, with countless top candidates heading to Baton Rouge.
Here are some names you should know.
Bryce Underwood: America's No. 1 Quarterback
This will be Underwood's third trip to the Boot since committing to LSU in January before the NCAA dead period began. He was in town just a few weeks ago and is now back in town for the spring game.
This time, he'll be donning the recruiting cap as he tries to impress five-star wide receiver Karik Lockett. LSU has already secured a commitment from No. 1 wide receiver (Dacorien Moore) for the 2025 cycle and is considering pursuing Lockett's services going forward.
Karik Lockett: America's No. 2 wide receiver
Lockett will take an unofficial visit to LSU this weekend and will officially return on May 31st. The coveted wideout is being eaten and eaten by the top programs in the country, and LSU is looking to make an impression.
The nation's top wide receiver arrived Friday afternoon and had a successful first night in Death Valley, officials confirmed. Now, it's important to carry this momentum into Saturday and Sunday before ending his trip.
DJ Pickett: America's No. 1 Cornerback
Pickett will head to Baton Rouge on Saturday, his third trip to Baton Rouge in recent months. LSU secondary coach Corey Raymond was in control in this game and his effort is on display here.
Pickett, the nation's top defensive back, will once again roll out the red carpet for his top target during an unofficial visit. Pickett is scheduled to return to town on May 31st for an official visit to LSU, his first official visit before a busy summer.
Harlem Berry: America's No. 1 running back
Berry is the headliner in LSU's 2025 class, which holds commitments from three top players at the position. He joins Underwood and Dacorien Moore. Berry, the only running back in the 2025 cycle, could get some company before the end of the weekend.
JT Lindsey, ranked No. 3 in Louisiana, earned an offer on Tuesday and is scheduled to appear on “Commit Watch” this weekend. He also plans to be in Baton Rouge for Saturday's spring game.
