Dylan Blue, Lewiston senior forward: Blue, a finalist for the Travis Roy Award, was a leader for Lewiston this season, helping the Blue Devils win their first state championship since 2020 and their 25th title overall. Blue had 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points. Consistently throughout the season, Blue scored two goals in four games and scored in 16 of the Blue Devils' 21 games.
Ethan Blue, Lewiston senior defenseman: Ethan, the twin brother of Dylan Blue, was a strong defensive presence for the Blue Devils while also adding scoring ability. Blue led Lewiston with 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points, one more than his older brother. Blue had one goal and four assists in Lewiston's three playoff wins and scored in each of the Blue Devils' final 13 games.
Will Keach, Poland/Levitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester senior forward: Keach, Class B South's leading scorer with 25 goals and 27 assists, was the driving force behind PLOG's first sectional final appearance and 17-win season. Keach had seven games in which he scored three or more points. Keach, one of the state's top wide receivers who played at Leavitt College last fall, will play football next fall at either Maine Maritime Academy or Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Billy Crusius, Camden Hills senior defenseman: Crusius, the top defenseman in Class B North, led a young defensive unit that improved throughout the season and saw significant playing time for the Windjammers. Crusius had 19 goals and 14 assists while regularly guarding his opponent's top offensive players. Crusius, a key man on Camden Hills' power play unit, had four goals and four assists on the man advantage. He hasn't decided on his college plans.
Aiden Lockard, Marshwood/Noble/Sanford, senior forward: Lockard, a Travis Roy Award semifinalist, scored 32 points with 23 goals and nine assists to lead the Nighthawks to the Class A playoffs. Lockard's 12 goals and three assists in four straight wins late in the season helped the Nighthawks qualify for the Class A playoffs. The Sanford University senior will attend Nichols College, where he plans to play lacrosse. Lockard will also play for the Seacoast Spartans U18 hockey team next year.
Toby Lappin, Portland/South Portland senior forward: Lappin, a finalist for the Travis Roy Award, was the offensive leader in his first season for the Beacons, a co-op of Portland High School, Deering High School and South Portland High School. Lappin had 19 goals and 12 assists, helping the Beacons advance to the Class A semifinals. Lappin will attend the Maine Maritime Academy, where he plans to play lacrosse.
Owen McManus, senior forward at Camden Hills: McManus, who was named varsity Maine Player of the Year, was the leading scorer in men's hockey this season with 40 goals, 31 assists and 71 points. McManus was at his best in the big games, scoring 11 goals in four playoff games and leading the Windjammers to their second Class B title in three seasons. McManus, also a standout lacrosse player, is undecided on his college plans.
Kadan Neureuther, Lake Region/Oxford Hills/Fryeburg Senior Forward: Neureuther, Class A's leading scorer this season, was a finalist for the Travis Roy Award. Neureuther had 20 goals and 19 assists for 39 points, including seven goals in the final five games. Neureuther was dangerous on all sides of special teams, scoring three goals on the power play and four shorthanded. His senior year at Oxford Hills, he plans to continue his hockey career at his community college in Central.
Timothy Ouellette, St. Dominic senior forward: Ouellette, who won the Travis Roy Award as the top player in Class A boys hockey, led the Saints with 36 points on 14 goals and 22 assists. Ouellet's score gave the Saints 13 wins, the most since 2020 when they won 14. Ouellette is the first Saint Dome player to win the Travis Roy Award in 15 years since Richard Paradis in 2009.
Gabe Pomerleau, Lewiston junior goalie: Pomerleau was outstanding during the regular season and playoffs, helping the Blue Devils win the Class A state title. Pomerleau shut out Bangor in the state championship game, just days after shutting out defending state champion Thornton Academy in the semifinals. Including the regular season, Pomerle had shutout wins in five of the final six games of the season. That year, he had a .940 save percentage and 1.41 goals against average.
David Swift, Cheverus/Yarmouth senior defenseman: Swift, the team's defensive leader, was a major contributor to Cheverus/Yarmouth's first state championship in its four-year history as a co-op program. In addition to outstanding defense, Swift had nine goals and 10 assists for 19 points, including the winning goal in a 4-3 win over Camden Hills in the Class B state championship game. Swift, a senior at Yarmouth, plans to attend Bates College and play baseball.
Brandon White, Falmouth junior goalkeeper: After the Navigators graduated their top two scorers in Class A, the team knew defense would be key to success in the 2023-24 season. White was Falmouth's rock in that regard. White started every game this season and posted a .932 save percentage and 1.66 goals against average. White pitched four shutout innings and led Falmouth to 11 wins.
Coach of the Year
Jason Rouleau, Poland/Levitt/Oak Hill/Gray New Gloucester: This season, under Coach Rouleau, PLOG had its best season since forming a co-op team in 2016. The team won 15 games in the regular season and won two more in the playoffs, advancing to the Class B South finals. This is the first time in program history that the team has won two playoff games.
