ST. LOUIS – Sports fans will flock to downtown this weekend for a game between the St. Louis Blues and City SC.
“Soccer games, hockey games, all kinds of things. It's going to be a good day,” said Maggie O'Brien's manager Hunter Ricks. “We've already experienced that. Either way, we've always been good participants.”
Ricks said restaurants and Irish pubs sometimes set up tents in parking lots to sell food and drinks. She also said there is a brand new patio on the side of the building across from CITYPARK.
A busy day is expected as fans head to the Downtown West area.
The Blues are scheduled to play the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday night and the Seattle Kraken at noon on Sunday.
“We're from North Dakota. We came here to watch the hockey game. It's a lot of fun to watch, we really enjoy it,” said visitor Jocelyn Long. “We like coming to St. Louis. Everyone is nice and friendly so we have a good time.”
With a playoff spot at stake for the Blues, fans are expected to be excited for each game.
CITY SC will host Austin FC on Sunday at 3:45 p.m. The game will be available to watch on FOX 2. Syberg's on Market Street is ready to welcome the crowd.
“Today is going to be a big day for us,” said Cyberburgs front-of-house manager Kenneth Blacketter. “We'll be leaving at 11 a.m. at the earliest, maybe a little before that.”
Attendance at both stadiums is expected to increase as temperatures reach the 80s into the weekend.
“It's going to be a great day,” Bracketter said. “We're going to open the shutter doors on the patio and have everyone have fun. It's going to be a great time to have some sunshine on them.”
