san antonio – The University of Texas at San Antonio football team will hold its 2024 spring game at the Alamodome on Saturday as an official event of Fiesta San Antonio, the school announced.
Kickoff for the game is set for 2 p.m.
The spring game marks the official end of the Roadrunners' 15-team training session, which began March 4.
Admission to the game is free and general admission opens at 1 p.m. Fan seating will be general admission only on the east sideline at the Plaza (100) level. However, tailgating is prohibited.
The spring game will be the first chance to find out who could replace a number of standout players and who could replace longtime starting quarterback Frank Harris. Dew.
Harris, who played seven years at UTSA, has since moved into a new university role aimed at increasing funding for UTSA football. The Schertz-Clemens graduate set a school record with 38 despite missing two seasons with a torn ACL and missing all but four games in 2019 with a shoulder injury. Moore, a redshirt sophomore and Smithson Valley graduate, joins the team after a stellar three-year career in which he broke the school record for sacks (14) and was named the 2023 American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year. Alexander, a native of Manvel, Texas, started his collegiate career at Sam Houston at the University of Oregon as he recorded 34 tackles, 17 passes defensed, one sack, two interceptions and two tackles for loss at UTSA. Head football coach Jeff Traylor returns to his fifth season with 16 starters and a total of 51 lettermen.
The 2024 offense will return leading rusher Kevorian Barnes, who ran for 715 yards and six touchdowns, and tight end Oscar Cardenas, a Brandeis native who has played the last two full seasons. will play together again. Time starter since redshirting in 2019.
