BATON ROUGE, La. — The nation's capital's professional hockey team, Zydeco, will hold an oath of service ceremony for 18 future Soldiers at Raising Cane's River Center during the first intermission on April 13 at 7 p.m.
“The oath of enlistment is a solemn moment for future Soldiers, as it is an important milestone before embarking on a journey that less than half of 1% of the American population will see,” said Capt. Terron Riggins, Baton Rouge Recruiting Company commander. said. He said. “We are honored that Baton Rouge Zadeco is supporting future soldiers and providing gaming as a platform to create memorable moments.”
In front of hundreds of Baton Rouge hockey fans, each future soldier will read the following words:
I, [Full Name], solemnly oath (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic. I pledge true faith and allegiance to it. And I swear that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed above me, in accordance with the regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So God, please help me.
The ceremony will officially take place on center ice, making the event even more memorable for attendees.
