The 2024 NFL Draft begins April 25th, and Southern Miss football could take another year before a player is selected.
Experts say running back Frank Gore Jr., who rushed for more than 4,000 yards and 26 touchdowns in four seasons, is the Golden Eagles' best shot.
If Gore is selected, it will be the first time since 2015 and 2016 that Southern Miss players have been drafted back-to-back. Defensive back Eric Scott Jr. was drafted in the sixth round by the Dallas Cowboys last season. Ito Smith was the last Southern Miss running back drafted, being selected in the fourth round by the Atlanta Falcons in 2018.
