Tyson said his bout with YouTuber Paul this summer would be an exhibition, but Paul insisted he wanted it to be a professional bout.
Jake Paul has revealed that he wants his fight with Mike Tyson to be a professional fight.
Despite their nearly 30-year age difference, Paul and Tyson will clash in Texas this summer. Tyson will be 58 when he risks it, but concerns have been raised about whether the fight should be sanctioned by Texas authorities.
Tyson himself confirmed that the fight would be an exhibition, but Paul hit back at the heavyweight legend, insisting he wanted the bout to be added to his professional record. “Mike and I want this to be a professional fight, a shoot-in-the-face kind of fight. We're putting that request before the committee. This is an all-out war,” he told Fox News. told. “There's three fake videos coming out saying we can't hit each other and we're going to be wearing big gloves, but it's all fake news.”
Paul has won nine of his 10 professional fights, with his only loss coming against Tommy Fury last year. He has knocked out his past two opponents in the first round and believes Tyson will provide a tough test despite his age.
“I think he underestimates me, I really do,” he added. “This is a heavyweight fight. He's bigger, but I'm faster. He's much stronger, but I'm fresh. He's more experienced. I'm smarter, but in the ring he's faster. “Maybe he's smarter. It's a really interesting match.'' – Up, people watch the training videos and think he's better.
“But I know I have what it takes to beat him. It's an honor to be in the ring with him, but I'm sure he'll raise his hand. It's going to be tough. He’ll go inside, but I believe I’m quick on my feet and quick on my hands, so I’m going to find the angle.”
Paul also called on presidential candidate Donald Trump to be ringside for the fight in Texas. “Trump, if you're looking at this, this is an invitation,” he said. “I know you were promoting Tyson, so I would love for you to come to the fight. Vivec came to my other fight as well. And of course, the silver fox, Baron. It’s Trump. So, Donnie, pull up, we’re coming” tickets. ”
