Kansas City, Missouri – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced that Pensacola, Fla., and Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park have been selected as the new locations for the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship. The initial term of the agreement is two years and ends after the 2025 NAIA Women's Soccer Championship hosted by Pensacola Sports in December.
“The bidding process presented some difficult choices, but Pensacola stood out among a very strong group of candidates,” said NAIA Championship Director Austin Bennett. “Pensacola Sports has done a great job of providing NAIA student-athletes with a special championship experience in a first-class facility.”
Ashton Brosnahan Athletic Park is the current home of the Southeastern Conference (SEC) Women's Soccer Championship and features a state-of-the-art layout that is a great experience for both teams and fans. Just last year, the facility underwent a major renovation that included a complete turf replacement designed for high-level college soccer. This improvement, along with the addition of multiple locker rooms and flexible use space, made this facility an ideal location for his NAIA to win championships in the coming years.
“Pensacola is excited to host the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship at Ashton Brosnaham Athletic Park,” said Pensacola Sports President Ray Palmer. “The players will love the brand new $2.7 million locker room facility, and I think players and fans alike will appreciate the well-maintained pitch. That field is the best I've ever seen. The best.”
NAIA moves the championship from one exciting beach location to another, providing student-athletes with a tropical experience off the field while providing facilities that spare no expense in developing and maintaining. Pensacola Sports also supports two NCAA Division I conference championships, with the Sun Belt Conference also making the city home to a basketball championship.
“We would like to thank the long-time and dedicated organizers of Orange Beach and the Gulf Shores/Orange Beach Sports & Events teams. Their long-standing contributions to this championship cannot and will not be forgotten. You shouldn’t,” Bennett said. “However, we are excited to have a championship in Pensacola and look forward to our long-term future there.”
