Trevor Whitman is a well-known UFC coach and mentor to the great Justin Gaethje. Whitman had a genius mind and also created some great MMA gear, including special gloves that prevented eye pokes. Weidman recently made headlines after he stabbed Bruno Silva in the eyes in quick succession to secure victory.
On the latest edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, Rogan sat down with MMA fighter Sean Brady. Brady discusses how he used Whitman's headgear, which made him want to request the gloves as well. Rogan then revealed how the UFC botched his negotiations for the gloves.

“I don't know why it didn't work out, but the UFC was talking to Trevor about MMA gloves.” Logan said. “He has absolutely great MMA gloves. they are the best Yes, no one comes close. And when you make a fist with them, it actually encourages you to close your fist. ”
“. . . I should probably restart these talks and try to get it going again. I really should. You know? I'll do that.” Clearly, Joe Rogan has set a priority on this. But maybe the UFC is already ahead of him? We have an interesting update.

In an interesting development, a new “Equipment Reveal and Presentation” ceremony was announced after the official UFC 300 weigh-ins. This also came after Chris Weidman's controversial win, and around the same time Weidman appeared on Ariel Helwani's show.
Joe Rogan is a fan of Whitman's gloves, and for good reason. And perhaps the UFC has finally caught up with its commentators. However, the question remains whether the announced equipment set is actually the new UFC gloves or something else.
