World Champion Brothers Sebastian and Gabriela Fundora Attend 2024 Boxing Hall of Fame Induction Weekend

Hall of Fame 35th Anniversary Celebration Scheduled for June 6th-9th
Canastota, NY – April 8, 2024 – The International Boxing Hall of Fame and Museum celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2024 with the birth of WBC/WBO Junior Middleweight Champion “Towering Inferno” Sebastian Fundora and IBF World Champion Brothers I would like to announce something. Flyweight champion Gabriela “Sweet Poison” Fundora will be in attendance at events scheduled for the 2024 Hall of Fame Induction Weekend, scheduled for June 6-9 in “Boxing’s Hometown.”
“Gabriella and Sebastian Fundora made history as the first brother and sister to hold world championships at the same time,” said Hall of Fame Director Edward Brophy. “This is an incredible accomplishment, and the Hall is very much looking forward to welcoming them both back to Canastota and celebrating their special accomplishments on the 35th anniversary of his induction into the Hall of Fame.”
Based in Coachella, California, Fundrus is trained by his father, Freddie, and promoted by Sampson Lewkowicz. Sebastian, who is 6 minutes and 5.5 seconds tall, turned professional in 2016 and won the WBC/WBO junior middleweight title by defeating Tim Tzu (W12) on March 30, bringing his record to 21 wins, 1 loss, and 1 draw ( 13KOs). Gabriela, who is 5 feet 9 inches tall, will turn pro in 2021. “Sweet Poison” won the IBF flyweight title in 2023 and successfully defended it against Christina Cruz in January (10 TKOs), remaining undefeated at 13-0 (6 KOs).
More than 35 great boxers in the United States and abroad, including “Golden Boy” Oscar De La Hoya, “Coal Miner's Daughter” Christy Martin, “Irish” Mickey Ward, Kelly “Ghost” Pavlik, Riddick, and more. Impressive list. Big Daddy” Bowe, “Spinks Jinx” Michael Spinks, Ann Wolfe and many more artists will be participating in the Hall of Fame Weekend celebration.
The Class of 2024 who will be honored include boxers Ricky Hatton, Ivan Calderon, Diego Corrales (posthumous), Michael Moorer, Jane Couch, Ana Maria Torres, Luis Angel Firpo (posthumous), Teresa -Includes Kibby (posthumously), trainer Kenny Adams, and manager Jackie. Cullen, publicist Fred Sternberg, journalist Wallace Matthews, and broadcaster Nick Charles (posthumously).
The Class of 2024 will be recognized in “Boxing’s Hometown” during Hall of Fame Weekend June 6-9, 2024. During the four-day celebration, Canastota and the nearby Turning Stone Resort Casino will feature many events including ringside talks, fist casting, fight night, 5K race/fun run, boxing autograph card show, banquet, parade, and inauguration.
