Thirteen martial arts students have passed rigorous testing and training at the CNMI Self-Defense Force Kyokushinkai Karate Watanabe Dojo to advance to the next level.

Clarson, who held a yellow belt for 20 years after taking a hiatus from karate training at the age of nine, recently resumed training and is now a green belt.
He expressed great satisfaction in finally winning the next belt in his martial arts journey and plans to continue where he left off. Clarson also represented the CNMI at the World Karate Association Shinkyokushinkai Full Contact Karate Championship held on March 6, 2024, and placed third in the adult men's division.
The CNMI has established a reputation for cultivating formidable karate talent, with Banez's dojo playing a key role. So far he has produced three consecutive champions and it is clear that this dojo is becoming synonymous with producing strong fighters in the field of martial arts. Their next destination is the WKO Shinkyokushinkai Full Contact Karate Championships to be held in Japan this July.
