LAS VEGAS – Nora Cornole defeated Melissa Mullins by second-round TKO on Saturday to open the preliminary card for UFC Fight Night 240 at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

“I can't say it's a relief, but it feels like another step has been completed. My first Some people weren't convinced by the appearance. It was her 7th appearance and I'm completely blue in the face here. This time I had to play against Melissa, so I had to put on a show. I really wanted to show off my skills and not make any mistakes like I did in Paris.”
Cornole about being underweight
“We were doing weight loss in the morning at the same location (UFC Performance Institute). I was doing my job. We met early in the morning. She was angry and very , looked very tired. …I was starting to lose the last weight (pounds) but still had (1.5 pounds) to lose. I went to the sauna and she I was in a terrible state in the sauna. She looked directly at me and was like, 'Hey, do you want to talk to the committee?'
Cornole talks about what he wants next
“I don't have a name, no one. I don't care as long as I'm ranked. If I can move up in the rankings, I'll go as fast as I can – I'm 34 years old. I'm not 20 anymore, so I don't care about the (belt) I just want the chance to defend the belt a few times (after winning the title). So whoever you want, give it to me. I don't care. I'm ready.”
