Brendan Allen got his revenge with a split decision win over Chris Curtis in the middleweight main event of Fight Night at the APEX Facility in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, April 7th.
Allen, now 24-5 with seven straight wins, avenged his TKO loss at the hands of Curtis in December with the judges' scorecards reading 47-48, 48-47, 49-46 after 25 minutes. I accomplished it. 2021.
Allen withstood well in the stand-up against Curtis' powerful blows, impressing with his takedown ability and threat of rear-naked choke submissions. However, as the split decision showed, it was a close battle.
“Chris is tough as fuck,” Allen said of his opponent. “He's short so it's hard for him to make shots. Short notice. [Curtis replaced Marvin Vettori, who was originally slated to face Allen], hats off to Chris. ”
He went on to call for a title fight against middleweight champion Drikas du Plessis. “Where's that title fight? No one's ever achieved the record I've got. What's up? Drikas [du Plessis] I know I'm going to hoo-hoo that ass. Come take this business.If you can't get Dreamus, Sean [Strickland] Let's run it and undo it. ”
The rest of the main card featured Damon Jackson scoring a split decision win over Alexander Hernandez in a catchweight (147.5 pound) bout, and Jose Mariscal scoring a split decision win over Morgan Charrière at featherweight. Ignacio Bahamondes stopped Christos Giagos in the first round of their lightweight bout. In the opening lightweight bout, Charlie Campbell defeated Trevor Peake by unanimous decision.
Next weekend, UFC 300 will be held at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday morning, April 14th, featuring a light heavyweight world championship bout between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill. Cards are assembled.
