On Friday, Oklahoma State secured its second commitment to its 2025 recruiting class. Until then, local athlete Matrail Lopez, a three-star player from Idabel, Okla., was the only member of the Cowboys' class. And now he's joined by a three-star offensive lineman from Texas.
Jaylan Beckley, a native of Addison, Texas, is a three-star offensive tackle (247Sports). He announced his commitment to Oklahoma State as the Cowboys beat out a number of notable programs in scouting competitions.
“God has been incredibly good to me and my family. This road has not been easy, but it has been filled with many rewards and good memories. I am grateful for my relationship with Coach Dickey and his “I would like to announce my commitment to Oklahoma State University,'' Beckley wrote on social media Friday.
Beckley is scheduled to make an official visit to Stillwater on April 26th. The Cowboys officially offered the offensive tackle on June 17, just days after Oklahoma offered. He was originally committed to the Clemson Tigers, but stayed on for a month before leaving the program.
Oklahoma State earned his commitment over programs like Oklahoma State, Florida State, Auburn, LSU, Texas A&M, Georgia and many others. This means a lot to Gundy as he adds a second player to the 2025 class.
Offensive line is a position that played a key role in the Cowboys' season just last year. They helped Ollie Gordon lead the nation in rushing yards while consistently defending Alan Bowman and allowing very few sacks all season. At 6-foot-4, 290 pounds, Beckley will be a big addition.
