Welcome to Midnight Mania!
Jamahal Hill is eight days away from the biggest game of his pro career. The former champion will be returning for the first time in nearly a year after suffering a severe Achilles tendon tear in a fight against current light heavyweight kingpin Alex Pereira. The two will compete in the main event of UFC 300, scheduled for next weekend (Saturday, April 13, 2024) inside T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is a significant challenge for Hill, but it hasn't stopped him from looking to the future. In a recent interview with GiveMeSport, Hill focused on a move to heavyweight, specifically a matchup with current interim kingpin Tom Aspinall. He doesn't see size or power as an issue.
“I usually walk around 240 meters.” [pounds]” Hill said. “I'm 240 years old now, brother. Brother, I want to tell you, brother, I'm a big boy. I'm a big dog. It's possible. It's possible, brother.”
he continued. “What the heck is a power advantage?” In the game, it doesn't matter who is stronger. At the end of the day, it's about who attacks whom first, but we both had the power. You can be thousands of times more powerful than me. I hit you first. What does that mean? It's a game. ”
The second half is especially interesting considering the upcoming match against Poitan. Pereira is one of the most powerful hitters in the sport, but Hill doesn't seem to think much of that trait.
Let's see if it takes effect next weekend.

Montel Jackson is ready to step up in competition with Said Nurmagomedov.
It's great to see Diego Lopez become such a big star that he deserves his own UFC 300 promotion.
In case you missed it, today's UFC weigh-in was an absolute disaster.

Then again, what Kamaru Usman was able to accomplish with a barely functioning knee is absolutely amazing.
Mike Perry's sparring footage is a mainstay of this column, and I'm really looking forward to his match against Thiago Alves.
Is Demian Maia the king of submissions with the highest percentage? Makes sense to me.
Statistics for BJJ fans:
Brendan Allen enters this weekend's main event with six rear-naked chokes in the UFC.

Rafael dos Anjos is one of a kind.
The person who asked the UFC for my next fight is a fighter my age who has about the same number of fights as me. The answer was, “Those people are at a different stage of their career than you.” It shows me that I'm on the right path and that I'm ready to take care of my body and continue to compete at the highest level.

Slip, Rip, KO Clip
I remember watching this knockout and thinking Jordan Mayne was going to be a future champion.
It's a 10/10 clip because it's a little limp at the end of the video.

Are any of you involved in the real estate market?
I've never said it before, but here's a near-perfect castle in Rochester, Michigan. According to the listing, it cost more than $10 million to build using more than 60 tons of steel and is 60 feet tall, taller than a four-story building.
PS There is a drawbridge.
