Central Michigan's second spring scrimmage is scheduled for Saturday, April 13th. Details for next Saturday's scrimmage will be announced next week.
CMU worked on a variety of in-game situations, including goal line sets, downs and distances, yard lines and field goals, punts, punt returns, kickoffs, and kickoff returns. The Chippewa also simulated a real game that replicated the in-game flow on both offense and defense. The defense, except for the quarterback, was able to tackle. Sufficient officials were present to make the call.
Offensive highlights included a play-action touchdown pass from. bert emmanuel jr. to Solomon Davis He covered 28 yards on the first drive from scrimmage and completed touchdown passes of 80 and 60 yards. Jadyn Glasser to matteo carriere and Evan Boydeach with a 40-yard touchdown pass. BJ HarrisIn that game, Emanuel spotted Harris wide open on the sideline and scored a 4-yard touchdown run. joe labas after he feigned a handoff and rushed into the end zone. Other plays include Labas catching an over-the-shoulder hookup with Javorian Wimberly; tyler jefferson pass it to Rory Callaghanand two Emanuel passes to chris parker. All four quarterbacks made nice plays and got the offense moving.
The defense also showed highlights, including an interception. Jarry Turnerwent in front of a pass and returned it 20 yards the other way, with two sacks and one tackle for loss. Justin Whitesideand by bag Marcus Badgett, Keshon Parker, Jonah Pacepass breakup by Budget, and combination sack by Jason Williams, Pius Ojugoand Cade Kostos.
Special teams highlights provided by placekicker Tristan Mattsona punter who made a 51-yard field goal and narrowly missed on his second try. david chapeau, made several long punts, including one from deep in his own end zone. Mattson also made a 37-yard field goal.

CMU will begin fall camp in late summer and open the 2024 football season with a home game against Central Connecticut State on Thursday, Aug. 29. The Chippewas are scheduled to play six home games, including four through mid-October.
