The U.S. Olympic team track and field competition returns to Hayward Field in Eugene, and NBC plans extensive coverage of the event.
The network announced its coverage schedule for the trials ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The matches are scheduled to be held from July 26th to August. 11.
NBCU will provide more than 20 hours of coverage of track and field prelims, semifinals and finals over eight nights, including all finals in prime time on NBC. Track and field coverage begins Friday, June 21 at 3:30 PM PT on USA Network and Peacock and continues at 6 PM PT on NBC and Peacock. Live coverage will end on Sunday, June 30th at 4:30pm PT on NBC with a number of final events.
The trials will include 100m and 200m world champion Noah Lyles, 100m world champion Shakari Richardson, and former two-time world and Olympic shot put champion Sam Barlow High School. Seven current world champions, including Starring Ryan Crouser.
Lyles, a six-time world champion, will be the first athlete since Usain Bolt to perform at the 2023 World Championships. He also won the men's 100m and 200m, as well as the 4x100m relay. Richardson is trying to earn a spot on his first Olympic team. Krauser is aiming to become the first athlete to win three consecutive gold medals in the shot put.
