“Congratulations”: UNO Hockey sends more players to the pros
Outside. Back to you. The UNO MAVS are preparing for the NCAA Tournament and will take on the University of Minnesota tomorrow night in Sioux Falls. That's where sports reporter Lauren Michelson is currently broadcasting live with one of the players. Hey Lauren. Hey. Yeah. Tomorrow is a great night for everyone here with Captain Nolan Sullivan. Nolan. All the work up until this moment, how are you feeling now? Yes, I'm very excited. The group is putting in a lot of effort this year. We've had a lot of success, especially recently. So we just have to stick to the game plan and play the game now. The word “belief” has been thrown around a lot in this locker room this season. how? Please tell me how it happened. Yeah, I think you have to build that and find your identity. And I think we've found a pretty solid identity for this group. And it's just a tough team to play against and a long night for other teams. And, like I said, a lot of effort has been put into it every day. I think we're doing a great job just enjoying each day, and it's a fun group. Understanding the differences in this group compared to other teams I've played with in the past. I think we love hard work the same way we love Mondays when no one is watching. We love the days we travel together, we love eating the meals, and we just love spending time together, and I think every experience is a chance for this team to grow, and we are now The season had to overcome so much adversity, and I think we just had so much fun. The Minnesota Tomorrow Knights were national runners-up last year. What do you need to win tomorrow? Yeah, same thing. I don't think you can overthink it. I think we have to come out and play fast. I know they have a few weeks off to play games, so I think it's better to start as soon as possible. And, oh, it turned out to be a rough night. They will be a skilled team. Similar to Denver and North Dakota. And I think the more we can make them get all the opportunities that they can get, the better off we are. We know this could be the last week we play in a MAVS uniform. How are you going to play leaving everything on the ice? Well, to be honest, I don't want to think about it. So, um, no, that's exciting. This program means a lot to me. And coming back after five years is very special. And I don't take it lightly to do what we've done this year and earn a chance to get back to the NCAA Tournament, but again, there's so many people and so much support. Well, just doing the right thing every day. So, um, you know, I'm not going to think about anything beyond tomorrow night and I'm just going to enjoy this moment. And I think the more visible we are as a group, the better off we will be as a whole. That's great, Nolan, thank you so much.Gophers and Mavis drop puck.
