This weekend's Shreveport Mudbugs hockey game will be the last home game of the regular season. Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th will be the final games of the entire 2023-2024 NAHL regular season. But the reason we have to keep saying “regular season” is because the Shreveport Mudbugs have qualified for the NAHL Playoffs, which will be held at their home on George's Pond inside the historic Hersh Coliseum. It means hockey will still be played on ice.
Before the playoffs, the Mudbugs have two games that are really fun for everyone involved. His Appreciate the 318 celebration will be held this weekend, and the team will pay homage to its home in the Shreveport-Bossier area. Let's take a look at some of the things that are going to happen with Mudbugs:
First of all, the team will wear the amazing 318 jerseys, one of the best designs in franchise history. If this season's 318 jerseys are in stock, they will be on sale at the Swamp Shack this weekend as well.
The team will also be holding prizes, contests and more to celebrate 318 this weekend.
As previously mentioned, the Mudbugs qualified for the NAHL playoffs. They are currently the No. 2 seed in the South, and this weekend's game is actually very important. That's because the team in third place is actually the El Paso Rhinos, who the Mudbugs will host Friday and Saturday. The Mudbugs could secure that No. 2 seed this weekend, but could also lose that seed to the Rhinos.
Tickets can be purchased at the entrance, but you can also purchase them here.
