The Granby Recreation Department has plenty of activities for kids and adults to stay active on these muddy spring days.
Granby's Highland Volleyball Challenge
Tired of sitting around doing nothing? Then, take part in an adult co-ed volleyball tournament held at the Granby Soccer Dome. The tournament format will be pool play leading to a multi-level tournament. Each team is guaranteed five games for him. It will be held on Tuesdays, April 9th and 16th from 7pm to 10pm. The cost is $150 per team. There will also be an open gym for all teams at the Soccer Dome on Tuesday, April 2 from 7-9 p.m.
Join a co-ed adult indoor soccer league
Get your team together and bring soccer indoors. The player must be at least 16 years old. The game will be held Thursday night at the Granby Soccer Dome. A league team consists of six field players and one goalkeeper, and the field must always include at least two women. League matches will be held on Thursdays from April 11th to May 9th. The cost is $400 per team. For those looking for a team or for team practice, there will also be a soccer night on Thursday, April 4th from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Drop-in nights are $5 per person.
Fun day camp activities on Friday
The Granby Recreation Department is planning some great youth Friday day camp activities this spring. Upcoming day camp activities include the Denver Zoo on Friday, April 5th, Chuck E. Cheese and Parks on Friday, April 12th, indoor trampoline center activation on Friday, April 19th, and Coors on Friday, April 26th. Includes field tour. All trips include: Meet at the Granby Community Building from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $40 per person. Advance registration is required for each day.
Karate classes for youth and adults
The Granby Recreation Department and Master Ken Crossman offer fun karate classes. Learn the philosophy of the art of karate and develop progressive basic karate skills, self-defense techniques, and traditional kata forms. We have classes for ages 7 to adults. Classes are held at the Granby Community Center on Thursday nights for adults and Saturday mornings and early afternoons for adults and children.
“Training is a great way for people of all ages to get in shape, improve discipline, improve focus and increase confidence,” Crossman said.
The next session of the season begins on Thursday, April 4th. Registration is currently available online, by phone, and in person. Prices range from $195 to $225 for a three-month membership, $370 to $425 for a six-month membership, and $585 to $675 for an annual membership.
