wild card race
Good news and bad news this morning. The good news is that the Washington Capitals lost last night. That means the Wings are tied with them at 82 points. The bad news is that the New York Islanders won, bringing them within one point of Detroit and Washington.
Praise Peron
Kahn wrote an article that focused on David Perron's goal against Tampa. Obviously a huge goal – there's no doubt about that, but let's not forget that Perron has scored four goals in his last 10 games. If he wants to stay, he will likely re-sign in the offseason. So all I can say is I hope his offense is at a turning point. This may be a bit harsh, but… I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
This is just an anecdote for me, but given my frustrations with certain players, I have to remind myself of where we are right now. The Wings won him playing meaningful hockey in April. This has been a novel concept for this franchise for a while. Even if the team gets to the first round and makes a fuss, it's a step in the right direction.

Star of the Month for March
Unsurprisingly, Connor McDavid was named March's Star of the Month. McDavid had 31 points in 15 games (7 wins, 24 losses, 31 draws). Star No. 2 Nathan MacKinnon scored 27 points in 13 games (11 wins, 16 losses, 27 draws). McDavid needs three more helpers to reach the 100-assist season mark. Even if you subtract his 29 goals, McDavid would still be among the top 10 scorers in the NHL.pretty wild
