Just 10 RGV boys soccer teams remained in state title contention heading into Tuesday's regional quarterfinals.
That number was cut in half by the end of the night, leaving just four teams remaining after tonight's third round games.
Brownsville Lopez and Edinburg North both had wins over their district rivals, punching their ticket to the district semifinals. Let's see how the rest of RGV's teams fared.

Progreso 2, Brownsville Jubilee 0: In Brownsville, the Red Ants scored two second-half goals to punch their ticket to this weekend's Region IV-4A tournament in Corpus Christi.
After a scoreless first half, Kayek Baza scored the first goal of the Red Ants in the second half, giving his team a 1-0 lead midway through the game.
Cesar Meza extended the Red Ants' lead soon after, giving the Red Ants a 2-0 lead they never looked back on.
Jubilee's season ended in the regional quarterfinals for the second year in a row, making it the first in program history to advance to the third round in consecutive years.
Meanwhile, the Red Ants' win returns them to the regional tournament for the sixth time in their past seven playoff appearances, but they missed last year's tournament after losing to eventual state champion Hidalgo in the area round. I just did it.
Progreso will play La Vernia in the Region IV-4A semifinals at noon Friday at the Cabaniss Athletic Complex in Corpus Christi.
Hidalgo 2, Idea Edinburg Quest 0: For Elsa, Santiago Hernandez and Johan Bonilla each scored one goal to lead the Pirates to a victory over the Trail Blazers at Benny Leighton Memorial Stadium.
The Trail Blazers' historic playoff history ended with two playoff victories, just one year after winning their first playoff contest.
After back-to-back painful starts to the postseason, there was no drama for the Pirates this time around, as they took an early 1-0 lead on a goal from Hernandez.
Bonilla put the finishing touches on Hidalgo's victory with a second-half goal, propelling Hidalgo to its third consecutive regional tournament appearance.
The Pirates are scheduled to face Boerne in a rematch of last year's Region IV-4A championship game on Friday at 2 p.m. at Cabaniss Athletic Complex in Corpus Christi. The winner of the contest will face the winner of Progreso and La Vernia for the Region IV-4A Championship.
Class 5A
Flower Bluff 2, La Jolla Juarez-Lincoln 1: In Corpus Christi, Juarez-Lincoln's season ended in heartbreaking fashion for the second straight year as the Hornets scored two second-half goals to overwhelm the Huskies.
Juarez-Lincoln took the lead in the 57th minute when Charlie Montelongo scored his second goal of the postseason. The lead didn't last long, however, as the Hornets tied the game in the 63rd minute with a goal from Kyle Barganski.
Flower Bluff scored again in the 68th to take the lead and never looked back en route to its first regional tournament appearance since 2006.
The Huskies lost 1-0 to Lopez in overtime last year, ending the year in the district quarterfinals for the second straight year. This season, they won the district championship for the eighth consecutive year.
Class 6A
San Antonio Harlan 1, Harlingen High School 0: In Laredo, Alejandro Vargas scored the only goal of the game, ending Harlingen High School's season in the Region IV-6A quarterfinals for the second straight year.
After defeating their first two opponents 16-0, the Hawks struggled against a tough Cardinals team, holding them to their lowest point total since a 1-1 tie against San Antonio Brennan on February 16th.
Still, it wasn't enough, as Harlingen High School was unable to respond by the end of the regulations.
The season ends with Harlingen High School making back-to-back playoff appearances for the first time since making the playoffs three years in a row from 2007-2009.
