Addie Green, a product of Nansemond Suffolk Academy, went 2-for-3 with one hit and two RBIs. For the Hokies, Emma Ritter and Cameron Fagan each had two hits and two RBIs, scoring eight runs in the final five innings.

Report: LB coach leaves UVA for Illinois
Linebackers coach Clint Sintim is leaving Virginia for Illinois, according to the Charlottesville Daily Progress. Sintim was named an All-American linebacker at UVA in 2008 and spent four years as an assistant coach. He played two seasons with the New York Giants.

Apprentice splits to 18-3
The Apprentice School (18-3) won 5-1 and lost 3-2 in a doubleheader against Penn State Schuylkill on Friday in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Pitcher Logan Early won Game 1.

Virginia Wesleyan's first-year program (6-11) defeated Calvin 3-2 (27-25, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-7). , extending the Marlins' winning streak to three. They defeated host Juniata (14-4) 3-0 (25-21, 25-15, 25-23) in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania.
For Calvin, Matthew Shepard had 21 kills, Jamahe Wills had 19 kills and 13 digs, and Carlyle Campbell had five kills, five digs and three aces.
Against Juniata, Landon Brinkley had 10 kills and five digs and Beckham Romboa had 12 assists.

Shellenberger sets UVA assist record
Connor Shellenberger recorded his seventh assist of the day and became the program's all-time assist leader as No. 6 Virginia won 19-15 in rainy conditions at Towson's Johnny Unitas Stadium. The Cavaliers (5-1) pulled away from a 10-10 tie in the second half, and the Tigers lost 4-3.
Shellenberger also scored three goals. He finished with 160 assists and 113 goals for 273 points, needing just five more points to break the UVA record of 277 points held by Shellenberger's former teammate Matt Moore.
UVA's Peyton Cormier also had a career day, matching his career best with seven goals and adding two assists.
Wabash wins over Virginia Wesleyan
Wabash (5-1), from Indiana, outscored the Marlins 8-4 in the second half and defeated Virginia Wesleyan (3-2) 11-8.
Lucas Parker and Mark Sprague each scored two points for VWU. Jake Pippen scored with 8:04 left to give Wabash a 9-8 lead.

No. 13 UVA defeats No. 4 Notre Dame.
No. 13 Virginia earned a 12-10 ACC victory over No. 4 Notre Dame. Mackenzie Hogue had four goals, Jenna DiNardo had three goals and Morgan Schwab had four assists and two goals for the Cavaliers (7-1). Maddison Ahern and Abbey Mytin had hat tricks for Ireland (5-2).
Methodist defeated Virginia Wesleyan 14-5 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Brianna Gable and Helen Kennedy-Butler each scored two points for the Marlins (2 wins, 3 losses). Kennedy Martin scored four goals for the Monarchs (3-2).
No. 14 Quaker wins over tribe
In Williamsburg, No. 14 Penn (5-0) defeated William & Mary 18-7, dropping the Tribe to 3-5. Maresa Moyer and Justice Barber each scored two goals to lead W&M.
Niki Miles led the Quakers with four goals, two assists and five draw controls.

No.71 ODU wins despite being shorthanded
No. 71 Old Dominion defeated Marshall 5-2 in Norfolk despite being short on players due to illness. The Monarchs have won 20 straight regular season conference games, 11 of which have been in the Sun Belt.
In singles, Sophia Johnson, Allison Isaacs, Aleksandra Viktorovich, Lydia Raskowskaya and Ulyana Romanova won.
William & Mary shut out George Washington 7-0 at the McCormack Nagelsen Tennis Center.
