CEBU CITY, Philippines — Dubai-based Cebuana Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) sensations Elicha Zoe and Elise Zoe Marley have shown great potential in another martial arts discipline, Judo.
This was after he secured a podium place at the recently concluded Mohammad Bin Hamad Al Sharqi Ramadan Martial Arts Course Competition in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates on Monday, April 1st.
What's impressive is that this was the first time the Marylee sisters had ever competed in judo, as they had specialized in jiu-jitsu ever since.
Senior Erika Zoe won a silver medal in the judo open weight 52kg category.
Young Elise Zoe won a bronze medal in the open weight 48 kg judo category.
Elisha Zoe won the gold medal by defeating Shuk Mohamed Ibrahim and Sarah Alazavi, both in ippon.
However, she lost one match to Asma Nada and ended up with a silver medal.
Elise Zoe, on the other hand, won the bronze medal by defeating Nolen Hekal by ippon in the first match. She lost to Dana Mohammed in her second fight.
Fortunately, Elise Zoe defeated Mariam Ali Hameis by ippon in the third race and won the bronze medal.
To recall, the Marley sisters won gold medals in their respective categories at the 2022 Abu Dhabi World Youth Jiu-Jitsu Championships and became world champions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
This time, the Marley sisters, who compete under the banners of Atrixion Jiu-Jitsu and Dubai MMA Academy, tested their mettle in judo to expand their martial arts abilities.
