Members of the UFC roster were notified Tuesday of the implementation of a new ticket sales policy for family and friends during UFC Apex events.
In a memo obtained by MMA Junkie on Tuesday, UFC Chief Business Officer Hunter Campbell said that starting Saturday at UFC Fight Night 240, fighters will receive four tickets for family and friends to watch each bout. The fighters and their teams were notified that they would be receiving them.
“Starting with UFC FIGHT NIGHT this Saturday, April 6th, athletes competing on UFC APEX cards will be given four seats for their friends and family to watch the fight only,” Campbell wrote. “After the fight, guests will be escorted from APEX. This practice will apply to all UFC APEX events going forward.
“UFC Event Management's VIP hosts will coordinate all details with customers during fighter check-in each fight week at the host hotel. All details will be provided, including guests' specific arrival times. ”
UFC fighters typically receive four free tickets to street events. However, prior to this policy, tickets to UFC Apex were generally not guaranteed to athletes. Family and friends often did not buy premium-priced tickets to attend, according to many people familiar with the process.
