STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (WHTM) – Penn State University has announced changes to the process for purchasing student season football tickets for the 2024 season.
This year there will be a lottery for student tickets. In the traditional process, a student can buy tickets within a day depending on the class, but usually he is sold out within 30 minutes. Currently, students have one week to request tickets.
Ticket sales, previously conducted through Ticketmaster, will no longer be sold through the ticket request system through the Penn State Student Accounts Manager.
All students will be notified via email on June 24th whether their request has been selected in the lottery.
The 2024 student ticket request period is based on class order and is as follows:
- graduate student: Monday, June 10th – Monday, June 17th (Request window opens on June 10th at 8am ET and closes on June 17th at 5pm ET)
- upperclassman: Tuesday, June 11th – Tuesday, June 18th (Request window opens June 11th at 8am ET and closes June 18th at 5pm ET)
- junior student: Wednesday, June 12th – Wednesday, June 19th (Request window opens on June 12th at 8:00 AM ET and closes on June 19th at 5:00 PM ET)
- 2nd grade: Thursday, June 13th – Thursday, June 20th (Request window opens at 8am ET on June 13th and closes at 5pm ET on June 20th)
- new student: Friday, June 14th – Friday, June 21st (Request window opens June 14th at 8am ET and closes June 21st at 5pm ET)
A seven-game home season ticket package costs $246. A credit card must be on file to submit a student ticket request, but will only be charged if the student is selected.
The Penn State Athletic Department said it hopes the changes will “provide an equal opportunity” for all students to obtain tickets.
Penn State opens the 2024 season on September 7th against Bowling Green.
