Former St. John's fullback coaches at Minnesota State Mankato
PELLA — Former Minnesota State and Mankato assistant Tim Lydon will be the new defensive line coach for the Central College football team.
Lydon spent last season as Mankato's cornerbacks coach after a year as special teams quality control coach and video coordinator at the University of South Dakota. He also served as a graduate assistant defensive line coach at Concordia University in St. Paul (Minn.) from 2020 to 2022, and was an assistant linebackers coach there in 2019.
After beginning his playing career at North Dakota State University, Lydon spent three seasons as a fullback at Division III St. John's University (Minnesota). Lydon, a native of Edina, Minnesota, earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from St. John's University and served as a kindergarten teacher at Hmong College Prep Academy in St. Paul from 2018 to 2019.
He completed his master's degree at Concordia in 2022.
