The 2024 season of LION Championship, Vietnam's leading MMA tournament, will begin on April 13th in Ho Chi Minh City.
Organizers announced that the opening event, LC12, will be held at the Lac Myu Sports Complex in Phu Nhuan District, Ho Chi Minh City.
The event will feature 12 matches in all men's weight classes at 3pm or 8pm.
The highlight will be the battle between national jiu-jitsu master Tran Ngoc Luong and Bui Truong Sinh, a student at the Lien Huong dojo of Vietnamese-American action star and martial artist Johnny Tri Nguyen.
Luong is one of the biggest names in the Vietnamese mixed martial arts world and has numerous international achievements.
At the Lion Championships, after moving up from B to A for the 2023 season, the 30-year-old has two wins and is currently fifth in the men's 60kg category.
Singh's current form is even more impressive. He is at the top of his class.
Last season, he won one by knockout and advanced to the title round, but lost to Brazil's Robson de Oliveira Soares.
If Shin defeats Luong, he will fight Oliveira again.
Another notable match will be the 56kg fight between National Jiu-Jitsu instructor Phan Thanh Tung and another man from Lien Huong Dojo, Pham Ngoc Khan.
Tan has been a national jiu-jitsu instructor for three consecutive years and currently ranks seventh in his weight class.
Kang is in 4th place.
In the 77kg weight class, Dan Hoang Minh will take on former US Marine Jesse James Bernal.
